Bouras Industries Inc. is a holding company consisting of Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc., United Steel Deck, Inc., Prior Coated Metals, Inc., ABA Trucking Corporation, and The New Columbia Joist Company.

Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc. started over thirty years ago as a sales agent handling bar joists, steel deck and structural steel. The credo of the company was to provide on time delivery of quality products. By paying close attention to this mission, sales expanded and a metal deck manufacturing company was started in 1968 - United Steel Deck, Incorporated. As deck sales increased, the capabilities were expanded to include a full line of roof deck, floor deck and siding products. United Steel Deck, Inc. is a wholly owned affiliate of Bouras Industries Inc. and Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc. provides all sales, administrative, engineering and detailing support.

After the deck company started it became necessary to have more control over deliveries and the ABA Trucking Corporation was formed to make certain that on time delivery was provided to the growing number of projects being served. ABA now operates more than 50 tractors and 110 trailers to serve all of the companies of Bouras Industries Inc.

When the deck product line was expanded to include siding, a need for architectural finishes on roll formed siding panels developed. After a few years as a customer for prepainted coils, Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc. purchased Prior Coated Metals, Inc. and made it part of the family. Prior Coated Metals, Inc. now coats, slits and recoils metals for a great variety of customers including wall panels for United Steel Deck, Inc.

In 1991 The New Columbia Joist Company became part of the group. This provided the option to Nicholas J. Bouras, Inc. to combine deck, siding and steel joists into one bid package. The New Columbia Joist Company, Inc. manufactures standard joists, long span joists, bow strings, and joist girders.

Through the years the original philosophy of on time delivery of quality products was expanded to include all phases of customer service. These services included deck and joist project detailing and complete technical design information for architects and engineers. Bouras Industries Inc. now employs over 650 people and maintains offices in over 20 different cities. Our four manufacturing plants and coil coating facility can service every state in the union as well as Europe, Asia and South America.

The company actively participates and maintains membership in the Steel Deck Institute, The Steel Joist Institute, the Coil Coaters Association, and the Metal Construction Association. It provides technical representation to the American Iron and Steel Institute. the American Society for Testing and Materials, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is an associate member of the American Institute of Steel Construction, the National Erectors Association and the Steel Erectors Association of America. Individuals within the company participate in many professional societies and civil service groups.
